Bilingual Evening Janitorial Supervisor (5-11:45pm)

We're looking for a bilingual Evening Janitorial Supervisor for a medical office building (includes OR) and an office located in downtown Indianapolis. This position involves overseeing a team, responding to property management inquiries, and ensuring that buildings are maintained to required standards. The role includes managing staff time and attendance, providing training on equipment and chemical usage, and performing a range of cleaning tasks. The employee will also be responsible for maintaining equipment and supplies, keeping the workspace clean, and adapting to changing policies and procedures.

The first building is cleaned from 5-6:30pm, then the second building is cleaned from 6:45-11:45pm; Monday to Friday. You are paid for travel time between the two buildings which are 6 minutes or 1.5 miles apart. The team is Spanish speaking, but English is required to communicate with management. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage a team of employees to ensure all cleaning tasks are done on time and to the required standards, while maintaining a clean, safe, and friendly working environment for all team members
• Receive and respond to inquiries and complaints from property management and provide information to managers on key issues
• Ensure energy saving practices are followed and procedures for locking and unlocking buildings are followed
• Respond to calls, texts, and emails in a timely manner
• Manage time and attendance through Paylocity 
• Train staff on equipment usage, duties/responsibilities, and chemical usage
• Perform a wide variety of cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, spot cleaning, and any other task assigned by the manager
• Dust and wipe down furniture, windowsills, light fixtures, and other surfaces
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and replenishing supplies (toilet paper, soap, etc.)
• Empty trash cans around the building and dispose of waste in a safe and proper manner
• Clean and disinfect high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and handrails
• Maintain cleanliness of entrance and exit areas, including sweeping walkways and removing debris
• Follow proper OR cleaning procedures 
• Ensure cleaning supplies and chemicals are used in accordance with safety guidelines and company policies
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Regional Manager
• Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Ensure the building is kept safe from hazards such as slippery floors or blocked exit routes
• Verify that the team is maintaining the Janitor's space in a neat and clean condition and maintain cleaning equipment in proper working condition
• Adapt to changing policies, procedures, and/or duties as directed by management 

Special Cleaning Tasks:

• Follow the building’s cleaning schedule

Qualifications:

• Experience:
  • Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
• Skills:
  • Ability to work efficiently and prioritize tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures
• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments, including indoors and outdoors (weather permitting)
  • Capable of using cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and floor scrubbers
• Other Requirements:
  • Medical Office Buildings require additional training and vaccinations at no cost to the employee 
  • Reliable transportation to and from the job site
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening (if required by the client)
  • Must be punctual, dependable, and maintain a positive attitude.

Working Conditions:

• Schedule: This position requires some flexibility to ensure cleaning tasks are fulfilled for the building. 
• Uniform: Company shirts and any required PPE (personal protective equipment) will be provided. Additional Marquis shirts/sweatshirts will be available for purchase at an additional cost. 
• Training: On-the-job training will be provided to ensure proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
