Texas Health Action is seeking a Bilingual Medical Receptionist for our Central/North Austin Testing and Outreach Clinic to handle all the daily administrative tasks required to keep clinical reception operations running smoothly. This person will attend to patients upon check in, coordinate and organize appointments and documentation to facilitate the smooth running of the healthcare environment, and support delivery of quality patient care.
What you would do:
Greet patients; screen and handle inquiries (in clinic, or if applicable, offsite at mobile testing events)
Register patients according to established protocols
Ensure patient information is accurate
Inform patients of medical office procedures and policy
Maintain and manage patient records
Move patients through appointments as scheduled
Schedule patient appointments
Report statistics as required
Manage incoming and outgoing post
Maintain stock of forms and office supplies
Ensure reception area is well maintained, neat and clean
Ensure inventory of items in reception area are stocked
Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality
Complete other clerical duties and office tasks as assigned
Creates processes and systems that benefit clinic flow.
Manages the clinic Visitor log and keeps it up to date.

Ability to perform physical tasks related to office administration (such as seeing, sitting, typing, standing, walking, turning, reaching, bending, stooping, and turning during the course of the day)
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
Compensation:
Based on job duties and requirements, this position has an hourly pay range of $21.63 to $23.18. Initial placement within this range will be based on hired candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.

Your previous work life and education must include:
High School Diploma
1 year experience in a medical setting
Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis
Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications
Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures
BLS/CPR Certified
Bilingual: English and Spanish
Your previous work life and education ideally include:
Prior experience in a non-profit organization
Prior experience working with historically underserved populations
Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations
Working knowledge of electronic medical record software
Working knowledge of healthcare insurance preferred
