Let's be upfront: this is a recruiting job first. If you love the hunt, filling orders, working a pipeline, and getting people hired, keep reading. By 7 AM the floor in Kenosha is moving, and you're the one making sure every seat is filled with the right people.
At Midway Staffing, the On-Site Supervisor is the person both our client and our associates count on. You'll run the staffing side of a light industrial operation right from the floor: recruiting and screening candidates, onboarding new hires, handling timecards, and keeping the client's leadership team in the loop every shift. You'll do it in English and Spanish, because a big part of the workforce you'll support is more comfortable in Spanish, and being able to meet people where they are makes all the difference.
What This Job Is Actually Like
Days move fast. Some start steady. Others start with three call-offs before the first break and a client who needs people by lunch, and it's on you to work your pipeline, make the calls, and fill the gaps without losing your cool. You're running your own operation on-site, so the people who do well here are the ones who see what needs doing and just get it done.
A lot of this job is people. You're the first friendly face a new hire meets, the one who walks them through safety training in whichever language they understand best, and the one they come to when something on their check looks off. You're also the go-to for the client's supervisors, and that trust gets built one shift and one follow-through at a time. Some of what you hear needs to stay between you and HR, and you'll handle it that way.
And you'll recruit, constantly. Posting jobs, sourcing, screening, and turning a phone call into a first day. If you've worked in staffing, you know the feeling of filling an order you didn't think you'd fill. You'll get that feeling a lot here.
• Recruiting, sourcing, and screening candidates in English and Spanish to keep the client fully staffed
• Onboarding new hires, including paperwork, orientation, and on-the-job training
• Leading safety training for new associates and doing daily site walkthroughs
• Submitting timecards, reviewing assignments, and answering payroll questions
• Preparing daily reports on rosters, attendance, and safety
• Serving as the main point of contact for the client's leadership team on your shift
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
• Recruiting or staffing experience (required, this is the heart of the job)
• HR experience (strongly preferred)
• A real customer service mindset, with associates and clients alike
• Comfort with email, job boards, and Microsoft Office
• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation for occasional travel to other client sites and branches
• $24.50/hr on a Monday to Friday schedule, with weekends as needed
