Bilingual Plant Operations Trainer (ENG and SPN)

We are currently looking for an Operations Trainer to join our team. The Operations Trainer has the responsibility to enhance team member skills, optimize production outcomes, and contribute to overall operational excellence. The trainer will assist in defining and documenting training programs and standard operating procedures that drive proficiencies.

Essential Functions:

• Provide training for a wide array of manufacturing duties while assisting in ensuring safety in the workplace.
• Work with operations managers, area managers/supervisors and team members to constantly improve the long-term capabilities of the departments.
• Identify training needs and objectives, develop curricula and materials, schedule and conduct training sessions.
• Collaborate with and define sources to determine training needs and best practices for industry. Stay informed of industry trends and advancements to keep training programs relevant and effective.
• Foster a positive learning culture within organization ensuring that training programs align with strategic goals and compliance standards.
• Perform written and hands on evaluations of trainee and review progress with Supervisor of Trainee
• Maintain spreadsheets or databases to track training and assessments
• Work with Shift Supervisors utilizing each Shift matrix to outline training schedule to help ensure all new hires are properly trained and certified upon hire, current staff are annually re-trained and eligible staff are cross-trained to address staffing weak points across the floor
• Work cooperatively with other operators, quality personnel and shift management team to achieve maximum production capabilities

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Skills:

• Industry knowledge: Knowledge and/or aptitude for operating Thermoforming and Extrusion machines.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Reliability: Have prior demonstrated excellent attendance
• Presentation Skills: Ability to instruct and lead others
• Other Skills: Interpersonal skills, training and instructional design, evaluation and assessment, technical proficiency, training and development
• Bilingual: English/Spanish

Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excel/Microsoft Office experience
• Computer literacy
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic math skills for inventory calculations
• Two plus years working in a manufacturing production environment
• One-two years in a supervisory or training role
• Experience with Thermoforming and or Extrusion preferred
• Training & Development Certifications preferred

Language Skills:

• Ability to speak, read, write and transcribe in English and Spanish
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from both internal and external sources.
