Job Description - Bilingual Programs Manager #1201

Our client is a respected, mission -driven nonprofit organization supporting individuals and families across the greater Los Angeles area. As a small and closely connected team, each role contributes meaningfully to the organization’s ability to provide valuable services and support to the community.

Our client is looking for a Bilingual Program Services Manager to lead and manage community -facing direct service programs. This role centers on three key service areas: the 800 Helpline, programs for individuals and families, and community education. Because many services are delivered in both Spanish and English, bilingual fluency is required. The position reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the board’s Program Committee to create and carry out the annual plan for programs and services.

The selected candidate will be responsible for guiding, coordinating, operating, and strengthening these programs, supervising staff and volunteers, tracking outcomes, and finding opportunities to improve access, including through online resources.

Run the 800 Helpline (information and referral)

  • Oversee the Emergency Assistance Program and the Safety Resource Program, including pillboxes and ID bracelets.
  • Manage the Helpline and create clear protocols so callers across the region receive timely, useful support.
  • Refer callers to programs and community resources, while offering case management and follow -up whenever possible.
  • Lead the team responsible for incoming calls, intake completion, needs assessments, and sharing information by phone, email, and mail.
  • Coordinate with the national office, which manages the shared database and referral protocols, to maintain data quality, improve processes, and exchange ideas.
  • Work with the Spanish Program Specialist to ensure materials stay accurate, relevant, and appropriate for a diverse community.

Lead community education

  • Plan and facilitate First Aid trainings in schools and organizations.
  • Coordinate the Brain Exhibit to teach students about brain health and seizure first aid.
  • Increase the program’s reach by recruiting, training, and managing parents, advocates, and professionals to deliver education directly.

Lead patient and family education

  • Build new partnerships and maintain strong relationships with current partners so people have access to current information and treatments.
  • Work with centers and community organizations to deliver educational programs throughout the region, with particular attention to underserved communities.
  • Provide one -on -one education and advocacy, coordinate sessions for newly diagnosed individuals, and arrange speakers focused on self -advocacy.

Manage supportive care programs

  • Programs may include Family Weekend Camp, Family Days and social outings, Summer Camp, Adult Social and Retreat events, art therapy sessions, Kids Crew events, and monthly support groups.
  • Ensure all programs meet the organization’s standards, including those supported or delivered by other staff members.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate social, recreational, educational, and therapeutic programs.

Support the wider team and mission

  • Represent the organization in the community and participate in most organizational activities.
  • Assist the Executive Director in guiding other program staff.
  • Deliver programs in virtual formats and keep resources accessible online.
  • Collaborate with the Development team on grant requests and reports, and help maintain donor relationships.
  • Support colleagues across awareness, advocacy, and signature events, as these areas often intersect.


Requirements

Essential

  • Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects with different timelines.
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation for regular travel across the region.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead diverse teams that include staff, community organizations, and corporate partners.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience working with databases.
  • Comfort working with a broad range of people, including clients with varying abilities and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of experience in program development and management.
  • Ability to represent the organization with professionalism and integrity.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends, with rare travel within the U.S.

Preferred

  • On -the -job training is provided.
  • Experience supporting people and families.
  • Familiarity with the organization’s mission and the ability to speak to it.

Reports to: Executive Director

Travel: Regular regional travel. Business mileage reimbursed at the standard rate
