Description

IOCP is a nonprofit that provides services in food, case management, emergency financial assistance, employment services, and childcare resources to those residing in eight Western Hennepin County cities. We are looking for a Bilingual (Spanish) Food Shelf Experience Leader to play a key role in leading food shelf operations and deliver a dignified grocery store-like shopping experience. 

The Food Shelf Experience Leader is responsible for core distribution tasks including set-up, volunteer support, guest services and data collection. If you are looking for a career where you can have a purposeful, direct impact on people in our community, we want to hear from you!

  • Schedule: 

o Monday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM

o Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

o Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

o Thursday: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

o Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

o Note: This is subject to change based on community demand.

What You Will Do

  • General food shelf distribution management including scheduling system administration (guests, volunteers), guest paperwork, data entry
  • Initial food shelf guest check-in and welcoming at front desk
  • Food shelf guest shopping oversight including inventory and space preparation; food shelf function monitoring including receiving, sorting, stocking, and distributing food, guest flow
  • Leading volunteers by welcoming, providing a daily overview of the shift, training new volunteers and providing coaching to all volunteers throughout the shift
  • Be knowledgeable/understand all key food shelf functions (inventory, distribution and delivery) for coverage and team support purposes

Requirements

 What You Will Bring

  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience providing exceptional customer services to diverse groups of people
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of people and build trusting relationships
  • Strong technical skills with knowledge in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience working with diverse communities and cultures
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with staff and volunteers; strong team player
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Timely and reliable
  • Ability to work independently; be self-directed with strong execution and follow through
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a timely manner
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to fill in as needed
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items, utilizing pallet jack, carts, and other warehouse equipment
  • Ability to drive 16’ box truck (or a willingness to learn), valid driver’s license with a safe driving record

Salary Description

$23.95/hour
