The Trade Compliance Specialist will support the execution and continuous improvement of the company’s U.S. import trade compliance program, with a primary focus on regulatory compliance, policy implementation, and operational support. The position will work closely with customs brokers and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and compliant import transactions in accordance with U.S. Customs regulations. In addition to core compliance activities, this role will also support internal reporting and communication in both English and Mandarin.
Key Responsibilities:
Support day-to-day U.S. import trade compliance activities, ensuring accurate and timely import filings in coordination with customs brokers
Review and maintain import documentation and compliance data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory recordkeeping requirements
Assist with tariff classification (HTS), customs valuation, and country-of-origin determination processes
Track and analyze updates in U.S. import regulations, trade policies, tariffs, and trade remedies, and support internal implementation
Partner with logistics, supply chain, and relevant functions to identify compliance risks and address operational issues
Support post-entry reviews, compliance checks, and responses to customs inquiries
Assist with internal compliance audits and data validation to ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory standards
Maintain and organize compliance-related records and documentation in line with internal and regulatory requirements
Prepare internal reports, compliance summaries, and presentations (including Chinese-language materials) for cross-functional and global stakeholders
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to import compliance processes, data accuracy, and operational efficiency
Qualifications:
2–3 years of experience in import operations, customs brokerage, trade compliance, or supply chain/logistics-related roles
Basic understanding of U.S. import regulations and customs processes (e.g., HTS classification, valuation, origin, documentation)
Experience working with customs brokers or supporting import clearance activities is preferred
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work with data and documentation
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
Bachelor’s degree required (Supply Chain, International Trade, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred)
Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin required.
