Billing and Quality Assurance Coordinator

Easterseals Iowa is currently seeking to fill an opening for our Billing & Quality Assurance Specialist. We are looking for a professional who is as passionate about accuracy as they are about the people we serve! In this role, you aren’t just processing numbers; you are ensuring the financial health of programs that change lives while ensuring that our work is funded, compliant, and accurate. You are the "behind-the-scenes" hero who keeps the agency moving forward, ensuring every service provided by Easterseals is accurately documented, billed, and reconciled so we can continue to empower our community.  

Principle Accountabilities Include: 

Responsible for monthly service billing reports 

Preparing preliminary billing reports from the database 

Submitting select department billing reports to third party vendor for processing. 

Serve as liaison between ESI and third-party vendor.

Submit billings to government agencies. 

Review remittances for claim denials and research reasons for denials. 

Resubmit corrected claims for payment. 

Supports Quality Assurance activities. 

Completes Quality Assurance reports. 

Other duties as assigned. 

Serve as backup for other customer care, compliance, and supporting department functions, including data entry and research.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience 

• Knowledge of computers and database systems; Medicaid billing knowledge and experience preferred. 

• Microsoft Excel experience required. 

• Ability to work under pressure, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines. 

• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats. 

• Ability to collaborate cooperatively with team members and the public in a professional and concerned manner. 

• Ability to manage sensitive information in a confidential manner. 

• Access to reliable transportation for work-related travel.
