Job Description - Billing and Reception

We specialize in medication-assisted treatment for opioid and narcotic addictions and dependence, providing comprehensive support since 1983. Our approach utilizes methadone, suboxone, and vivitrol to aid in breaking withdrawal symptoms, while empowering patients to build upon their strengths for a holistic recovery encompassing mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Our dedicated clinical staff includes a board-certified medical director, medical doctors, advanced practice registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, masters level counseling staff, certified addiction professionals, physician assistants, licensed mental health counselors, and licensed clinical social workers, all committed to guiding patients toward a livable life free from addiction. This is an in-office position only.


Responsibilities



  • In office position only - not a remote position.

  • Collect deductible, copay, and coinsurance payments from patients and process incoming mail containing insurance payments. Balance the money drawer at the end of each day.

  • Print daily payment reports and summary balance reports each day.

  • Obtain all necessary referrals and authorizations for procedures and services.

  • Assist the Program Director and/or CEO with administrative requests as needed.

  • Maintain a sufficient supply of blank forms for clinical record documentation, including intake forms, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.

  • Effectively and efficiently verify all patients' benefits before their appointments or during the intake process.

  • Answer incoming calls from other providers, recipients, and carrier groups regarding insurance coverage. Monitor walk-ins and check in patients for treatment services.

  • Research eligibility information online using various insurance carriers' portals.

  • Act as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance carriers to ensure all proper measures are taken and information is collected.


Qualifications and Education Requirements



  • Minimum: 1 year of experience in Medical Front Desk & Insurance Verification.


Preferred Skills



  • Strong communication skills.

  • Proficient mathematical skills.

  • Knowledge of medical insurance and authorization processes.

  • Knowledge and skills in working with computerized billing systems, including practice management software and EMR.

  • Ability to operate basic office equipment, answer multi-line telephones, and possess a strong computer background.

  • Experience working with insurance portals such as Availity and Provider Express. Experience with Waystar is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid programs.
