Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-driven Billing Manager to lead our billing and collections team in a fast-growing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing customer invoicing, collections, and accounts receivable processes while ensuring pricing accuracy, compliance with contractual terms, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who thrives on process improvement and is driven to build efficient, scalable systems that support growth.
This role requires a continuous improvement mindset, a strong understanding of billing operations, and the ability to leverage technology and AI to enhance performance and automation. This position will work closely with our NetSuite and Salesforce Admins, as well as cross-functional teams including Sales, Business Development, and Customer Support. The Billing Manager reports to the Controller and plays a key role in driving the financial infrastructure that supports our growth.
This role is a hybrid role and will work in-person 2 or more days a week. We kindly ask that only candidates who are willing and able to work in-person at our Franklin, TN office apply for this position.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the billing & collections team to ensure timely and accurate invoicing and cash collections on both domestic and international customers.
Oversee the entire accounts receivable and billing lifecycle, including invoice generation, payment processing, collections, dispute management, customer account reconciliations, and AR aging reviews.
Continuously refine and optimize existing billing processes, controls, and systems with a focus on efficiency, automation, and scalability to support the needs of a growing organization.
Oversee the subscription management system, including pricing plans, renewals, terminations, and upgrades.
Work closely with sales, customer success, account management, and finance teams to ensure seamless billing and revenue operations.
Continuously look for ways to improve collections and decrease related churn, including managing the shut off process for delinquent accounts.
Analyze billing data to identify trends, ensuring pricing accuracy.
Provide reporting and analysis on KPI’s and team performance.
Ensure SOP documentation is complete and updated annually.
Manage AR team, including training and mentoring of staff.
Assist the Accounting team as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience with an ERP system
5+ years of progressive experience in billing, accounts receivable, collections, and revenue operations, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role
Experience in SaaS, technology, or subscription-based business models
Ability to work accurately and independently
Proven ability to lead teams, drive process improvements, and collaborate cross-functionally
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in NetSuite and Salesforce
Hotel/hospitality industry experience
