Key Responsibilities
Verify patient insurance eligibility and ensure accurate charge entry
Prepare and submit clean claims to payers both electronically and via paper
Research and resolve denied or unpaid claims to maximize reimbursement
Post payments from patients and insurance providers accurately in the practice management system
Respond to patient inquiries with professionalism and excellent customer service
Work aged accounts and follow up with third-party payers
Interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and apply knowledge to billing adjustments
Collaborate with insurance representatives to resolve claim issues
Monitor claim submission deadlines and ensure compliance with state and federal programs
Identify billing trends or recurring issues and report to management

Requirements
Minimum of one year of experience in a medical billing or reimbursement role, or equivalent education and training
Working knowledge of medical coding terminology (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) and healthcare reimbursement processes
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word) and experience with practice management systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Commitment to confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Customer-focused mindset and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
