About this role:

The Billing Specialist II provides medical billing support to the Third-Party Billing Department. This position gathers and enters demographic and insurance information, accurately enters charges and adjustments, responds to inquiries, and handles designated collection and claims processing tasks.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 am - 4 pm

We are looking for people who have:

• Medical Billing knowledge or formal billing education strongly preferred
• Previous customer service experience, medical billing, or patient accounts experience strongly preferred
• High School graduate or equivalent
• Required Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Demonstrated problem solver
  • Ability to calmly and competently explain complex medical billing issues to insurance companies

In this role, you will get to:

• Client Insurance Eligibility Verification
• Identify and differentiate insurance carriers
• Enter client demographics into the Thom Biller System
• Complete charge entries from weekly billing logs for the Agency programs
• Analyze and correct billing reports/keying errors
• Match weekly activity journal reports
• Enter Monthly Discharges
• Perform basic billing tasks
• Work claim aging reports and denials to assure proper adjudication; including requesting referrals for Medicaid claims, and medical record documentation
• Coordinate claim process by performing Cash Posting and Claim Submission
• Perform other professional duties as requested.
