Billing Supervisor

The Billing Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Billing Manager in operations of the billing department, including all billing related functions, employee scheduling and new employee orientation.

Knowledge and Training:

1. 
   Knowledge of general management theories and techniques normally acquired through completion of an Associate’s degree in Business Administration, or equivalent experience.


2. 
   Experience in a supervision role or five years of progressively responsible experience in health care billing environment, preferable ambulance.


3. 
   Familiarity with state and federal billing regulations and procedures.


4. 
   Knowledge of medical necessity and proper documentation and completion of Physician Certification Statements for ambulance transports.


5. 
   Knowledge of current company policies and procedures.


6. 
   Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including data analysis and reporting) and Zoll Rescuenet Billing Software.


7. 
   Assists in the interviewing, hiring, coaching, employee reviews and employee performance improvement plans.


8. 
   Knowledge of EPRO including time cards and PTO requests.

Responsible for:

1. 
   Assists in managing the activities and work performance of the billing department and billing externs. Assists in the interviewing, hiring, coaching, employee reviews and developing employee performance improvement plans.


2. 
   Ensures customer satisfaction regarding activities of the billing office.


3. 
   Works with customers to ensure effective communication, problem solving and prevention.


4. 
   Influences peers and other line personnel to accomplish pre-determined objectives, through effective team leading, communications, decision making and other management activities. Provides consistent, accurate, and expeditious support to peers. Performs all duties in a generally agreeable and positive manner.  Able to work independently or as a team member as the circumstances require.


5. 
   Assures work areas are neat and clean, free of obstacles and other hazards.


6. 
   Performs other duties as assigned.
