Job Description Summary
We are looking for an experienced 3D Substation Physical Designer who will also be responsible for managing and coordinating all BIM activities.
BIM Leader with a good knowledge of Revit to produce and implement GE BIM strategy and processes in line with ISO-19650 and our customers BIM requirements.

As BIM Leader, you will be responsible for managing the BIM in your region tender and projects and coordinating with GE internal and external factories, subcontractors, customers and partners.

You'll need to align the regional BIM processes for our HV substations and Power Electronics Systems with our Engineering and Project Management procedures, as well as the central BIM processes. As an experienced 3D Substation Physical Designer, you will be involved in developing 3D Models and generating electrical physical 2D drawings.

Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate the BIM and CAD processes and practices across the region.
Utilize his or her 3d Modeler experience to develop and implement BIM Execution Plans, use cases, setting up and working with a CDE, 3D Model Collaboration (internal & external), 3D Model Auditing, Clash Detection Meeting and Reports, Virtual Construction, Design & Constructability Reviews, Augmented Reality, georeferencing, IFC exchanges.
Deploy and train teams on new collaboration tools, such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC Docs, Model Coordination, Design Collaboration).
Manage the BIM information data and ensure its accuracy and completeness throughout the project lifecycle.
Edit templates, shared parameters, good practices, and technical documents in line with central processes.
Coordinate development & evolution of region BIM models and processes: BIM procedure & convention, templates, attributes definitions, LOD/LOI definition, etc.
Define and coordinate the region's common library of MCAD parametric models for typical objects in line with GE central library.
Act as focal point for functional support and new business requirements for region organization.
Ensure that project teams comply with all BIM requirements, including quality control, project delivery and model management.
Actively drive toward standardization of tools and design practices in line with Central BIM manager.
Organize the training of BIM coordinators and BIM modelers on the functional use of the tool and the GE design process or standards.
Ensure the MCAD tool is well integrated into Engineering and Project Management processes.
Adapting the ISO 19650 standards in the Substation Design BIM processes.
As an experienced 3d Substation modeler, you will be involved in developing and supporting the development of HV physical model designs from the tender stages until the project hand over. You will be closely coordinating with engineers and be involved in HVDC, FACTS and AIS projects to deliver engineering drawings including substation general arrangement, building arrangements, grounding, lightning, section views, installation and erection drawings.

Responsibilities:

Certification as a BIM manager is required, and prior experience in HV substations is mandatory.
Associate degree in drafting and/or a bachelor's degree in engineering technology.
Minimum 7-10 years 3D HV Substation modeling experience.

Desired Skills:

Good knowledge of ISO 19650 and other BIM standards.
Good knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
Extensive knowledge and experience of the latest version of Autodesk Revit, Navisworks and how it links to other software.
Extensive knowledge and experience of Autodesk Construction Cloud (including Docs, Design Collaboration, Model Coordination, Insight & Build)
Demonstrated MCAD skills, including general usage and tool configuration; exposure to several 3D engineering design tools (Creo, E3D, Solidworks, Inventor) and IFC exchange format.
General IT/IS background, PLM knowledge (Windchill Imagine)
Highly organized and self-motivated with excellent communication skills
Ability to produce clear and simple documentation.

The salary range for this position is 127,900.00 - 170,500.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. 127,900.00 - 170,500.00 - 213,100.00 USD Annual
