Bin Maintenance Tech II

The Bin Maintenance Tech II will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, painting, and labeling of our steel donation bins, clothes carts, and some facility-oriented items, at our Planet Aid warehouse. The right person should be familiar with general mechanical work tools, grinders, sanders, welding equipment, and painting supplies. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

Pay: Weekly

Schedule: M-F, 1st shift

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other responsibilities may be assigned)

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Oversee the maintenance of receiving carts and collection bins using welding, wood, metal, and polymer skills
• Retrieve bins that need to be refurbished and empty them completely
• Sand, paint, and label collections bins, following steps as instructed 
• Perform collection bin repair and preparation tasks including sanding, painting, applying decals, and welding
• Load and unload bins from trucks using a forklift
• General warehouse work including cleaning, sweeping, etc.
• Assist with the warehouse duties
• Operate bin scale system for truck unloading
• Other responsibilities may be assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Welding experience required
• Facilities, or property management experience is strongly preferred
• Forklift experience preferred

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: 

Knowledge of hand and power tools and maintenance techniques 

Must be able to work flexible hours potentially including some weekends 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and push up to 300 lbs. continually throughout the day 

Continually able to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, dig and operate the equipment
