âPosition Summary: To ensure the quality of technical aspects of dialysis.
Essential duties include:
1. Performs or schedules vendors for the required maintenance and repair of all dialysis machines, CRRT machines, and water treatment systems at all hospitals across the system.
2. Maintains and reviews all quality testing, maintenance and other records to ensure compliance with standards and determines areas for quality improvement.
3. Performs Quality Reviews of technical aspects of dialysis and prepares written reports for all dialysis programs.
4. Leads Quality improvement projects related to technical quality.
5. Remains current on all regulations and standards as related to the technical processes of dialysis and makes recommendations for change to ensure compliance
6. Develops, reviews, and updates technical standards, policies and procedures
7. Oversees of water treatment systems and ensures quality of treated water
8. Researches and orders parts, supplies and equipment as needed
9. Performs dialysis supply management
10. Provide consultation to clinical staff as related to dialysis equipment and water treatment
11. Supervises machine repair staff and the work of vendors
12. Analyses data for contracts and contract negotiation.
13. Remains survey ready and represents the program during for regulatory audits and inspections
Requirements
Education/Expertise: Associate Degree in Biomedical Equipment, Technology, Electronics or equivalent military training required. Required Credentials, Licensure or Certification (i.e. RN, RRT)
Certified in dialysis machine maintenance and repair from a nationally recognized organization or vendor required.
âExperience & Knowledge: Two years general biomedical background required (preferably in dialysis) with dialysis equipment and water treatment experience preferred. Medical / technical vocabulary Computer and documentation aptitude required Working knowledge of biomedical equipment with preference for dialysis equipment and water systems Preferred knowledge of AAMI, CMS, JC standards as related to dialysis
