Biologist - Plant Physiology - with Great Benefits

If the answer is yes, this may be the position for you!Randstad is seeking an innovative Biologist with experience in plant development and seed physiology to work with a team focused in Innovation Science and Engineering. This is a fast paced, timeline-driven, team-oriented environment that requires collaboration, attention to detail, and ability to work in a diverse and multifunctional team environment. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for system or process improvements, onboarding of new technologies or methods, and assisting in method development.

Responsibilities

As the selected candidate, you will be responsible for:

• Support the design, execution, and analysis of experiments to better understand/characterize the physiological and developmental response of crop plants to various treatments aiming to improve plant performance.
• Generate high quality data and maintain detailed record keeping and documentation for process improvements.
• Collaborate with other scientists on the team and support the discovery, development, and deployment of novel technologies.
• Complete job-related trainings and share a culture of safety, innovation, customer focus and collaboration.

Must Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in area of biological sciences
• 1 or more years of research experience in crop/plant/seed physiology, seed biology, plant developmental biology, plant reproductive biology, plant cell biology, tissue culture and Transformation, plant biochemistry or related field is desired
• A high attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Technical skills:

• General plant care
• Greenhouse, growth chamber and field experimentation (setting and monitoring environmental conditions)
• Seed germination assay preparation and evaluation
• Media preparation
• Basic imaging and image analysis

• working in a smoke free environment

Skills
• Plant Physiology (1 year of experience is required)
• Greenhouse Operations (1 year of experience is required)
• Seed Germination (1 year of experience is required)
• Media Preparation (1 year of experience is required)
• Tissue Culture (1 year of experience is required)
• Plant Biology (2 years of experience is required)
