Bioprocess Scientist In-Process Analytics

We are seeking an individual to join our collaborative team supporting the analysis and characterization of in-process samples. This role plays a key part in optimizing product recovery and impurity removal by providing high-quality analytical data to support process development and improvement efforts.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with biochemical analytical techniques and a strong foundation in laboratory practices. This is a great opportunity for someone with a few years of industry experience who is ready to take on more responsibility and contribute to cross-functional projects.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Conduct both routine and non-routine analytical testing to support protein purification and bioprocess development efforts.
• Apply a range of analytical techniques, including:
  • RT-qPCR
  • UPLC/HPLC (Size-Exclusion, Hydrophobic Interaction, Ion-Exchange, Affinity)
  • ELISA
  • Capillary Gel Electrophoresis (CGE)
• Analyze and interpret experimental data to evaluate process performance, product quality, and impurity profiles.
• Maintain accurate, compliant, and well-organized records in electronic lab notebooks and internal databases by Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Support the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and analytical systems.
• Collaborate effectively with internal cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure seamless laboratory operations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and proactively engage in new technical challenges and project opportunities.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• BS with 4–6 years or MS with 2–4 years of relevant industry experience.
• Hands-on experience with RT-qPCR, ELISA, CGE, and HPLC is strongly preferred; candidates with proficiency in most of these techniques will be considered
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively manage/prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines and performance metrics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction or need for current/future sponsorship.

Additional Details: 

The position is full-time, first shift, Monday-Friday. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes that may require shift changes and/or weekend work, and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Andover, Massachusetts, are encouraged to apply.
