Job Description

  • Setup, operate and troubleshoot large scale equipment (bioreactors, centrifuges, autoclaves, chromatography skids, filtration skids, CIP/SIP stations, autoclaves) to support biopharmaceutical production
  • Perform operations and maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Operate automated process controllers and perform cell culture in flasks, bioreactors, and/or fermenters.
  • Manage samples including ensuring proper storage and handling of samples.
  • Write, revise, and comply with SOPs  and associated documentation.
  • Perform data collection and analysis by using process controllers and office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Complete documentation including GMP documentation, timecards, order requisitions, and reports.
  • Clean areas according to specific SOPs.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate supplies in the areas.
  • Demonstrate safe work habits and maintain a safe work environment. Understand and comply with safety SOPs and procedures (Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) guidelines, Near Miss, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), biohazard training, Monthly Safety training, etc.).
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills within and outside the department using verbal, written, and non-verbal communication.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • Self-starter, able to prioritize work and work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to handle change (changing workloads)
  • Good at multitasking with ability to work with deadlines
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
  • Reliable in attendance and punctuality\
  • Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Lincoln, NE are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or any other physical science.
  • Authorization to work in the US indefinitely without sponsorship 
  • Practical experience and/or knowledge of biopharmaceutical production including  cell culture, harvest (continuous centrifugation / filtration), tangential and normal flow membrane filtration, and chromatography
  • Experience with aseptic technique

Physical Demands:

  • Manual dexterity using hands and fingers
  • Frequent twisting of wrists and forearms
  • Constant standing for extended periods
  • Ability to work flexible hours including work week, weekend, holiday, and overtime
  • Lifting: May include occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
