We are seeking to hire a Black Seal Licensed Lead Day Custodian. You may be responsible for vacuuming, mopping, sweeping floors, trash removal rest room and break room cleaning and other miscellaneous duties to ensure that building and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner. Ideal candidate will have professional attitude & appearance and is initiative-taking, hardworking, dependable, and responsible.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  

  Maintain cleanliness of entrances, hallways, restrooms, offices, and high‑traffic areas during the day

  
  


• 
  

  Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and disinfecting surfaces

  
  


• 
  

  Monitor restrooms and replenish supplies throughout the day

  
  


• 
  

  Respond promptly to spills, accidents, or urgent cleaning needs

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure doors, windows, and access points are secure

  
  


• 
  

  Monitor HVAC, lighting, and building systems for issues and report or address them

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain compliance with safety, sanitation, and environmental regulations

  
  


• 
  

  Assign tasks to custodial team members and monitor completion

  
  


• 
  

  Train new custodial staff on procedures, equipment, and safety practices

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain daily work schedules and adjust staffing as needed

  
  


• 
  

  Provide feedback and support to custodial team members

  
  


• 
  

  Submit work orders for major repairs and follow up on completion

  
  


• 
  

  Set up and break down rooms for meetings, assemblies, or special events

  
  


• 
  

  Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as requested

  
  


• 
  

  Coordinate with administrators and staff to meet daytime facility needs

  
  


• 
  

  Monitor cleaning supply levels and request replenishment

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain equipment in good working condition

  
  


• 
  

  Track usage and ensure proper storage of chemicals and materials 

  
  

Qualifications

• 
  

  Experience in custodial and/or schools (k-12) work (typically 2–3 years)

  
  


• 
  

  Prior lead experience preferred

  
  


• 
  

  Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safety procedures

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform physical tasks

  
  


• 
  

  Strong communication and organizational skills

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to work independently and manage a team
