As we scale, we're looking for a dynamic Finance and Bizops Manager to take the lead on managing and scaling our financial operations, drive strategic financial insights, and streamline business operations to ensure the company’s continued growth.

Role Overview:

We seek a highly motivated and experienced Business Operations and Finance Manager to join Bluespine. As Business Operations and Finance Manager, you'll own business processes, financial operations, and strategic analysis, driving growth and supporting executive decision-making in this hands-on position.

Responsibilities:

Operational and Finance Leadership:

• Drive strategic planning and financial management
• Oversee business systems, financial reporting, and compliance
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Supervise accounting processes, including AP/AR and month-end close
• Support fundraising strategy and investor relations
• Track KPIs and provide strategic insights to leadership

Operational Excellence:

• Streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Develop performance dashboards and conduct regular analysis
• Prepare materials for board meetings and investor communications
• Manage vendor relationships and service provider contracts

Strategic Projects:

• Lead business modeling for new products and services
• Manage financial planning and resource allocation
• Own special projects as required by leadership
• Evaluate business opportunities and strategic partnerships

Strategic Finance:

• Lead financial modeling, including pricing calculators and business cases for new products and services.
• Drive budget planning, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Provide strategic financial insights to guide decision-making at the executive level.

Business Operations:

• Work closely with the leadership team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Develop and maintain operational dashboards for tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Regularly analyze operational performance and recommend improvements.
• Board Preparation: Prepare financial reports, presentations, and key insights for board discussions to support leadership with board meetings.
• Investor Updates and Communication: Prepare quarterly financial reports and updates for investors. Coordinate communication with investors, ensuring timely and transparent company performance updates. Work closely with leadership to manage investor relations and support fundraising efforts.
• Legal Service Providers: Oversee relationships with legal service providers, ensuring that contracts and agreements align with the company’s needs and legal obligations. Work with external legal teams to manage and negotiate contracts, ensuring timely and cost-effective outcomes.

Special Projects:

• Own and manage various ad-hoc projects as required by leadership.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to evaluate new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.

• Proven experience in a Finance & Operations leadership role within a high-growth startup environment
• Strong business operations acumen with the ability to optimize cross-functional processes
• Deep understanding of financial operations, accounting principles, and business best practices
• Fluent in English, with exceptional communication skills for stakeholder management
• Experience implementing operational efficiency improvements and scaling financial processes
• Proficiency in Office suite and operational management systems (e.g., Priority)
• Experience in configuring and optimizing business operations systems - highly valued
• Strategic thinker who can translate data insights into actionable business recommendations
• Excellent project management and cross-functional team leadership abilities
• Hands-on problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments
• Legal knowledge related to business operations and compliance is a plus
