Job Description - Board Approved Clinical Supervisor

Description

 

MUST be a Board Approved Supervisor for ADT, CSC-AD, and CAC-AD.

Reporting to the General Manager of Business Unit Operations. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for working directly with all assigned supervisees to ensure quality clinical services and outstanding documentation of all services rendered. The Clinical Supervisor observes, mentors, coaches, teaches, evaluates, systematically reviews, and inspires supervisees. The Clinical Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to focus on counseling staff development and client welfare through the oversight and improvement of clinical services. Additionally, The Clinical Supervisor provides support to the organization by helping to integrate solutions to everyday legal and ethical issues in clinical practice.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing individual and group supervision to ADT, CSC-AD, and CAC-AD counselors and interns in accordance with the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapist Supervision regulations in COMAR 10.58.14 (for Certified Counselors and Trainees pursuing certification.)
  • The Clinical Supervisor provides mentorship, teaching, and guidance to both novice and experienced clinicians in regards to the ongoing development of knowledge, counseling skills, application of theory, evidenced based practice, and innovative treatment techniques.
  • The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for thoroughly reviewing the clinical documentation of all counselors on their supervisory caseload and providing confirmatory signatures that the documentation is complete and accurate.
  • The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for addressing areas in need of improvement regarding clinical service delivery and documentation. Matters of individual counselor areas of improvement should be addressed and documented during individual supervision with each counselor.
  • The Clinical Supervisor maintains proficient knowledge of the clinically relevant policies, procedures, and standards of Evolve Life Centers and works closely with supervisees to ensure that they are being implemented and followed by clinical staff.
  • The Clinical Supervisor maintains an in-depth and current knowledge in the theories and application of all aspects of clinical service delivery including screening, assessment, treatment planning, individual counseling, group counseling, family counseling, crisis intervention, discharge & transition planning.
  • The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for conducting and attending all weekly treatment team meetings for any counselors on their supervisory caseload. This includes following the Evolve Standards format for treatment team case presentations, skills training, and group discussion of complex cases for consultation and feedback.
  • The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for documenting all individual and group supervision sessions conducted, using the supervision forms provided by Evolve, and maintaining records of all supervision provided. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for submitting all supervision records to their direct supervisor by uploading them into the appropriate shared folder in Google Drive.
  • The Clinical Supervisor encourages continued education and professional development by assisting supervisees and interns with completion of documentation relevant to the progression of their academic training and certifications or licensure.
  • The Clinical Supervisor maintains an in-depth and current knowledge of several important credentialing, licensing, and regulatory agencies that impact clinical services at Evolve, including but not limited to ASAM, CARF, and COMAR, and continuously works with clinical staff to assure that best practices are being followed.
  • The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the education and application of clinical staff regarding COMAR 10.58.03 (Code of Ethics for Counselors).
  • The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for maintaining professional standards, recognizing and addressing impairment and limitations of supervisees, and safeguarding the welfare of clients.
  • The Clinical Supervisor shares responsibility for general chart compliance and works closely with the Lead Counselor’s, Compliance, and Quality Assurance teams to assist in Peer-To-Peer chart audits, mock surveys, and other audits from regulatory agencies as needed.
  • The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for upholding the clinical and ethical integrity of the program and works closely with the Directors of Operations and Lead Counselors regarding any observed personnel, ethical, or performance issues of staff.
  • The Clinical Supervisor assumes the role of gatekeeping in the company and the profession for individuals who are ill-suited for the counseling profession. This responsibility is carried out by making appropriate recommendations regarding internship and practicum students planning to enter the profession and by providing formal recommendations and reporting to the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapist as needed.
  • The Clinical Supervisor works closely with the Directors of Operations and Lead Counselors to provide input and assistance with annual employee performance reviews and Personal Improvement Plans (PIP) as needed.
  • The Clinical Supervisor may assist the Director of Business Operations and Lead Counselor with interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new counseling staff as needed.

 Expected hours: 20 per week 

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelors or master’s degree in social work, psychology, and mental health counseling or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Currently approved by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapist to provide supervision to ADT, CSC-AD, and CAC-AD counselors.
  • Strong foundation of clinical skills as applied in substance abuse treatment.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience in a similar role, preferred.
  • Experience with Google Suites and ICANotes preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of ASAM, COMAR, and CARF.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
