Job Description - Board Certified Behavior Analyst

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE


Under the direction of the Director of Special Education, the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) leads the development, coordination, and implementation of Bullis Charter School’s behavioral supports and instructional programming. The BCBA ensures that behavioral and social-emotional services for students with disabilities are responsive, effective, and compliant with IDEA, California law, and applicable federal regulations.


Approximately 60% of this role focuses on supporting general education students through Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions within the Multi Tier Systems of Support (MTSS). In this capacity, the BCBA collaborates with general education staff to design, implement, and monitor proactive, data-driven behavioral supports aimed at early intervention and prevention.


This role partners closely with educators, service providers, administrators, and families to promote positive student outcomes through evidence-based behavioral practices. The BCBA provides both direct and consultative support, builds staff capacity through professional learning, and supports the development and implementation of individualized behavior intervention plans.


WHAT YOU’LL DO


General Education & SRT Support (Approximately 60%)



  • Serve as a core member of the Multi Tier Systems of Support (MTSS), supporting Tier 1 and Tier 2 behavioral and social-emotional interventions for general education students

  • Consult with general education teachers and staff to design, implement, and monitor evidence-based classroom and small-group behavioral supports

  • Use data to support early identification of student needs and to guide intervention planning and progress monitoring

  • Support the development, implementation and refinement of universal (Tier 1) and targeted (Tier 2) behavioral systems and practices across the school

  • Provide coaching and professional learning to staff on proactive behavior strategies, classroom management, SEL strategies, and data-informed decision-making


Special Education & Individualized Supports



  • Develop and oversee a coordinated, school-based behavior support program within the Special Education department

  • Design, support, and monitor the implementation of classroom management strategies and individualized behavioral interventions

  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), as appropriate

  • Support the implementation and ongoing monitoring of BIPs in collaboration with instructional and support staff

  • Provide direct behavioral services and observations for students, as outlined in IEPs

  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in Special Education team meetings and IEP meetings as required

  • Provide coaching, consultation, and professional development to teachers, paraprofessionals, and other school staff

  • Collaborate with families/guardians to support consistency and understanding of behavior interventions

  • Participate in referral, assessment, and re-evaluation processes for selected students
    Perform other related duties consistent with the role, as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related behavioral science field

  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification

  • Experience working with students in educational or clinical settings implementing behavioral-based programming

  • Strong knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and practices


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Valid California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential

  • Experience working in a school-based or special education setting

Employment offers are contingent upon verification of valid work authorization, credential and work history review in accordance with AB 2534 or SB 848, First Aid/CPR/AED certification, TB clearance completed within the last 60 days, and a cleared criminal background check.
