The Board Operations and Engagement Manager is a professional position within the Office of the LSU Board of Supervisors responsible for supporting Board Office operations, budget administration, communications, game-day operations, special events, stakeholder engagement, and strategic projects. This position reports to the Executive Director & Senior Advisor and works collaboratively with the Operations Manager and Student Ambassadors to ensure continuity, redundancy, and high-level operational support for the Office of the Board of Supervisors.
Due to the highly visible nature of the Board of Supervisors and the confidential information handled by the office, this position exercises discretion, sound judgment, and independent decision-making in managing projects, communications, operational activities, and special assignments.
Job Duties:
Supports the overall operations of the Office of the Board of Supervisors under the direction of the Executive Director & Senior Advisor. Assists with managing operational workflows, special assignments, and Board-related initiatives. Coordinates and responds to requests from Board Members, University Administration, campus leadership, foundations, and external stakeholders. Provides operational support for Board activities, strategic initiatives, Board development programs, and special projects. Assists with scheduling meetings, preparing briefing materials, coordinating travel arrangements, maintaining operational documentation, and supporting office functions during periods of high activity or staff absences. Works collaboratively with the Operations Manager to ensure continuity of Board Office operations and cross-functional support for Board meetings, events, and initiatives. Maintains cross-training with the Operations Manager in key Board Office functions to ensure continuity of operations, seamless service to Board Members and University leadership, and uninterrupted support during staff absences, Board meetings, special events, and periods of peak activity. Assists with operational planning and implementation of special projects, Board initiatives, and engagement activities as assigned by the Executive Director & Senior Advisor. -25%
Coordinates Board of Supervisors game-day operations and hospitality activities for athletics and other University-sponsored events. Assists with planning and execution of Board-sponsored hospitality events, donor engagement activities, campus visits, recognition ceremonies, and special programs. Coordinates logistics related to Board attendance and hosting responsibilities at athletic events, including football, basketball, baseball, gymnastics, and other special athletic competitions and championships. Supports Board suite operations, sponsorship fulfillment, hospitality experiences, guest management, and strategic partnership activities. Develops event timelines, operational plans, staffing schedules, signage, guest materials, and ogistical documentation. Serves as a liaison with LSU Athletics, Tiger Athletic Foundation, LSU Foundation, campus administrators, vendors, and external partners to ensure successful event execution. Provides on-site event management and operational support, including evenings, weekends, and game days as required. Supports Board fundraising initiatives, sponsorship activities, and engagement opportunities associated with Board events and special programs. - 25%
Maintains and monitors the operational budget for the Office of the Board of Supervisors. Tracks expenditures, event expenses, purchasing activities, vendor payments, reimbursements, and budget allocations. Assists with procurement activities and coordination with University Accounting, Procurement, Foundation Accounting, and other financial partners. Develops and maintains budget projections for Board meetings, special events, hospitality functions, strategic initiatives, and other Board-related activities. Prepares budget reports, expenditure summaries, and financial updates for review by the Executive Director & Senior Advisor. Ensures financial activities are conducted in accordance to University policies and procedures. Assists with monitoring sponsorship fulfillment, partnership commitments, and event-related financial obligations. -20%
Supports communications and stakeholder engagement efforts for the Office of the Board of Supervisors and Board-sponsored initiatives. Drafts correspondence, event communications, invitations, announcements, briefing materials, reports, presentations, talking points, stakeholder updates, and other communication materials. Assists with communication planning and engagement strategies for Board initiatives, special projects, events, and stakeholder outreach efforts. Collaborates with the Operations Manager in the development and production of signage, printed materials, digital communications, presentations, invitations, promotional materials, and event materials supporting Board meetings, special events, strategic initiatives, and stakeholder engagement activities. Provides communications and creative support during periods of high activity, major events, and special projects to ensure continuity of Board Office operations. Serves as a liaison with University Relations, Athletics Communications, Foundation Communications, Governmental Relations, and campus communication offices as appropriate. Supports communication and engagement efforts involving Board Members, donors, alumni, campus leadership, elected officials, and community stakeholders. -15%
Co-supervises Student Ambassadors in partnership with the Operations Manager. Assists with recruiting, training, scheduling, mentoring, project assignments, and performance evaluations of Student Ambassadors. Provides leadership and direction for Student Ambassadors supporting Board meetings, special events, game-day operations, campus visits, communications projects, stakeholder engagement activities, and strategic initiatives. Ensures adequate staffing support for Board Office operations, Board meetings, and event activities. Promotes professional development, leadership development, and ambassadorial opportunities that enhance the student experience while supporting the mission of the LSU Board of Supervisors. Assists in developing project assignments and operational responsibilities to support Board priorities, special initiatives, and stakeholder engagement efforts. Works collaboratively with the Operations Manager to provide mentorship, guidance, and oversight of the Student Ambassador program. -10%
Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director & Senior Advisor and members of the LSU Board of Supervisors. Supports special projects, strategic initiatives, fundraising efforts, partnership activities, and emerging priorities of the Board of Supervisors. Serves as a resource to the Board Office by providing operational redundancy and cross-functional support to ensure continuity of services and successful execution of Board responsibilities. -5%
Additional Reuirements:
This position has access to/directly handles cash. Financial history/credit check required per FASOP HR-04. Availability to work evenings, weekends, Board meetings, athletic events, and special events as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's with three years of related experiences

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, Hospitality Management, or related field.
Experience working in higher education, governmental affairs, athletics administration, foundation relations, board relations, executive administration, or event management. Experience managing high-profile events, hospitality programs, donor engagement activities, sponsorship programs, or executive-level projects. Experience supervising employees, interns, or student leadership programs. Knowledge of LSU System operations, governance structures, Board operations, and higher education administration.
