Bode Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Engineer is to assist the Engineering team with overall property condition, routine preventative maintenance, responding to guest requests/work orders, coordinating vendor projects, and improving the overall aesthetics of the property.

Essential Job Functions

• Complete routine property grounds walks to maintain overall cleanliness and property condition.
• Complete routine preventative maintenance for various guest rooms as directed by the Engineering Manager and PM checklist.
• Be courteous to all guests when responding to work order requests. Engineering staff is expected to interact with guests and use the guest's names.
• Operate, repair, and maintain all pumps, boilers, motors, electrical systems, refrigeration systems, lighting, hotel appliance, and the hotel paint
• Maintain the condition of the guest hallway/corridors with routine touch-up painting.
• Utilize property software to complete, track and add notes to all property issues for tracking purposes.
• Fielding guest complaints while maintaining professional dialogue with guests and finding resolutions to satisfaction. Maintain complete knowledge at all times of all hotel features/services, activities, and events.
• Inspect, plan and ensure that all materials, workspaces, and equipment are in complete readiness for service and up to health code.
• Adhere to hotel requirements for guest/employee accidents or injuries and in emergency situations.
• Foster and promote a cooperative working climate with all associates.
• Capable of working with building codes officials, planning/zoning officials and community design committees when required
• Experience in operating utility systems
• Work closely with housekeeping supervisors
• Review status of assigned projects and daily assignments and any follow-up action with on-coming staff.
• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all department policies/service procedures/standards. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
• Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of the day.
• Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas. Pass any key information over to management.
• Assist the housekeeping department with any tasks needed to make the team successful.
