Body Shop Painter

Description

The Body Shop Painter is responsible for performing quality painting. They will manage the daily operations of the paint department ensuring the all OE refinished specifications are followed. 

The Body Shop Painter is supervised by the Body Shop Director. 

Essential Functions and Duties

· Quality check body work before pain process status.

· Refinishing vehicles while matching color, clear texture, and sheen.

· Manage paint department workload.

· Control wet and dry materials by cost by managing inventory and minimizing waste.

· Other duties as assigned.

· Constructively communicate with other dealership personnel as required to satisfy customer needs.

· Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers. 

· Maintain personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards according to departmental policies.  Belts worn on trousers to be of no buckle design to avoid scratching paint on customer’s vehicles.

· Arrive at work, take breaks, and depart work at the times designated by management.

· Attend meetings and trainings as scheduled.

· Ensure that work areas and customer waiting areas are kept clean.

Requirements

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Time Management – ability to manage one’s own time

· Automotive Technical Knowledge – Three to five years experience

· Attention to detail

· I-Car Refinishing Certification 

· The ability to communicate efficiently with body techs, estimators, and manager

· Working Conditions: Loud noise and exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Some conditions vary depending on the physical structure and layout of the location. These specifics should be reviewed with your manager.

MINIMUM Hiring Requirements

· 3-5 years of verifiable automotive high quality paint experience

· High school graduate or equivalent

· 18 years or older

· Possess an acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license in state of residence

· A criminal history background check will be conducted prior to beginning employment 

· Clear pre-employment drug screen
