Body Shop Vehicle detail/Quality Control

Position Summary:

The Body Shop Prep/Detailer Porter supports the collision center and detailing operations by preparing vehicles for bodywork, cleaning and detailing completed repairs, and moving vehicles as needed. This role ensures that vehicles are clean, organized, and presentable for both technicians and customers, contributing to overall customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle Preparation & Detailing:

• 
  

  Wash and clean vehicles before and after repairs.

  
  


• 
  

  Perform interior and exterior detailing to dealership and customer standards.

  
  


• 
  

  Clay bar, polish, and buff vehicle surfaces as needed.

  
  


• 
  

  Apply wax, sealants, and protective coatings.

  
  

Shop Support:

• 
  

  Assist technicians in prepping vehicles for paint (e.g., masking, taping, sanding).

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain cleanliness and organization in the prep and detailing areas.

  
  


• 
  

  Keep detailing and prep supplies stocked and equipment in good condition.

  
  

Porter Duties:

• 
  

  Move vehicles between service, body shop, and parking areas.

  
  


• 
  

  Retrieve or deliver customer vehicles as needed.

  
  


• 
  

  Conduct visual inspections of vehicles for damage or cleanliness.

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain lot organization and vehicle inventory arrangement.
