The BOH Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing the restaurant’s Back of House (BOH) operations. Their top priority is delivering fresh, fast, and safe food to exceed Guests' Expectations! This leader will ensure all food safety practices are implemented in accordance with NYC, state and federal guidelines. He/she consistently demonstrates our core values, embraces the Chick-fil-A culture, has a passion for people and serving others, has strong character, takes initiative and works with a sense of urgency at all times. Keeps team members accountable for each component of Operational Excellence and protects our core values by being a champion of culture and growth within the restaurant.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and participate operationally in day-to-day activities in high-volume, fast-paced Restaurant while adhering to Chick-fil-A standards and systems
- Acts as a role model and leader in the kitchen, setting a tone for teamwork
- Works alongside Team Members in all areas of the kitchen, ensuring speed and accuracy, while maintaining food quality and safety. Provides coaching and feedback in a way that is constructive and positive and in line with restaurant goals.
- Manage the assignments for all kitchen stations, including fries, breading, assembling, boards, and food prep
- Complete required daily, weekly and monthly checklists
- Assign weekly positions of BOH team members
- Ensure the kitchen is neat, clean and orderly at all times
- Is in constant communication with other restaurant leaders outside of the kitchen - working toward common restaurant goals and enabling each other's success.
- Assist in training of new hires
- Ability to manage Team Member behavioral and performance issues
- Ability to work in a team environment with shared ownership and responsibility
- Adhere to Chick-fil-A rules and dress code at all times
- Other duties as assigned
Availability
- Fully available Opening or closing shifts based on business needs, including Saturdays and holidays.
- This is a 40+ hour/week position.
Certifications
- Must complete Food Handler training within a year of joing.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as shift lead, crew lead, supervisor, team lead, restaurant manager, restaurant assistant manager is not required but is preferred.
- Able to work on your feet for several hours at a time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Consistent, reliable, with ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
- Dedication to cleanliness and completion of kitchen tasks
- Strong commitment to superior customer service
