Job Description - BOLD In-School Facilitator


JOB TITLE: BOLD  In-School Facilitator


DEPARTMENT(S): Programs


REPORTS TO: In-School Coordinator


FLSA: Full-Time Exempt Salary  $37,500-$42,000 (40 hours per week between Monday and Saturday as program needs arise, and 40 hours a week for Fall, Spring, and Summer Camp)


 


JOB PURPOSE:


The BOLD (Life and Independent Skills) Facilitator is responsible for preparing and implementing hands-on minds on programming and activities and experiences for ages 5-18 that expand on and support girls’ school-based/center-based learning and engagement leading to the following Bold Impact Indicators: build life skills to set and achieve goals, have healthy relationships and increase resilience in the face of obstacles and adversity to live productive and fulfilling lives. 
Advocate for youth access and resources in these areas.
 This position is an in-person position at our schools, delivering programming to our girls during the school day and after school. 


 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist supervisor to provide the agency's vision and ensuring all policies and procedures are followed by both staff, participants, and mentors/volunteers in order to provide effective programming

  • Implement Girls Inc. (BOLD: Life and Independent Skills) curricula within a supportive, open, non-judgmental environment to ensure the Girls Inc. Experience

  • Plan, develop and implement high-quality age-appropriate, intentional programming for girls ages 5-18


  • Assist with recruitment, registration, and retention of girls for school-based and center-based programming so that program capacity is met

  • Work collaboratively with all agency program staff to ensure continuity of program delivery 



  • Distribute, collect, and submit program session paperwork and evaluations

  • Assist with the collaboration of key community partners to ensure program growth opportunities

  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and chaperoning special events, enrichment trips, guest speakers, etc. for participants and their families

  • Assist with ensuring that the mentor/volunteer program is efficient and effective by providing the appropriate resources to the mentors/volunteers for a positive and quality experience

  • Assist with ensuring effective and efficient program delivery model is documented, implemented, and evaluated through Compass 360 process in reference to registration, outcomes evaluation agreement forms, outcome evaluations, attendance, etc.



  • Provide written evaluation of programming based on data from surveys, reflections, reports, and other feedback to support school-based and center-based reports

  • Actively engage in qualitative and quantitative program evaluation, including Strong, Smart, and Bold Outcomes Survey and Seeding Success

  • Provide accurate and timely information for grants and other funding applications, reports, and documentation

  • Participate in periodic assessment of own performance, develop own goals and objectives; Actively seek personal and professional growth opportunities for self and any staff including participation in conferences, training, meetings, and seminars

  • Confer regularly with supervisor; Keep him/her informed of problems, concerns, needs, trends, and unusual circumstances



  • Council girls individually or collectively, and makes referrals as needed

  • Advocate in the community on behalf of agency, women, and girls in keeping with the Girls Inc. public policy platform

  • Embrace challenges, new experiences, and be willing to be flexible and stretch to exhibit our learning and growth culture

  • Show up in the work with a creative, entrepreneurial, upbeat, and collaborative spirit

  • Represent Girls Inc. of Memphis in a manner that conveys professionalism, confidentiality, courtesy, fairness, personal integrity and respect for others



  • Support all departments in agency events

  • Follow all agency policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook

  • Perform other duties as assigned, cheerfully


 


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Must be 21 years or older

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred, but at least a high school diploma and experience in youth development 

  • An articulate belief in the mission of Girls Inc. 

  • Effective written, oral, and presentation skills 

  • Demonstrated abilities in incorporating a diversity of cultures, ethnicity, languages, abilities, and socioeconomic backgrounds with all stakeholders



  • Integrity

  • A sense of humor

  • Computer proficiency- Office365, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to effectively manage and diffuse volatile situations 

  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities 



  • Ability to bend, lift and move up to 20 pounds

  • Ability to work nights and weekends; Position schedule primarily 8 am- 6 pm M-T and 10 am- 2 pm on Fridays and expected to work on Saturday events as scheduled. 

  • A current valid driver’s license and car insurance
