Our Phoenix office (a beautiful space in the Esplanade, overlooking Biltmore Fashion Square) is currently looking for experienced Bookkeeper to join out Accounting Department.

Our attorneys have achieved significant results for countless clients over their combined fifty years of practice. As successful trial attorneys, our partners have extensive experience in and out of the courtroom. Gregory Rueb and Paul Stoller have represented tens of thousands of clients throughout the United States in complex multi-district mass tort litigation, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and more. Most recently, Buck Daniel secured a $20M verdict (with an upcoming retrial on the announced $50M Punitive that was determined a mistrial) for our clients in a toxic exposure trial in Covington, Georgia.  Their patience to learn the facts of each case they handle, whether large or small, combined with a deep understanding of the law make them fierce opponents in the courtroom and at the negotiating table.

Job Responsibilities

As a bookkeeper, you will oversee and manage financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Recording Financial Transactions: Accurately record all income, expenses, and financial activities using accounting software.
  • Maintaining General Ledger: Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger by reconciling accounts and correcting discrepancies.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Track invoices, payments, and overdue accounts while maintaining strong vendor and client relationships.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with internal records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Update client files in real time to reflect current status.

Requirements

  

Must-have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or finance      preferred.
  • Experience in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or FreshBooks.
  • Mastery of bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creating pivot tables and using formulas.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and client interactions.

Preferred:

  • Certification as a bookkeeper or accounting technician (e.g., CPB or AAT).
  • Experience working in the legal industry, more specifically, handling mass tort cases.
  • Multitasking skills for managing multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.

Success Criteria

To excel in this role, as a bookkeeper you must:

  • Consistently produce error-free financial reports within deadlines.
  • Maintain a 100% accuracy rate in recording and reconciling financial transactions.
  • Exhibit proactive communication to address potential financial discrepancies promptly.
  • Demonstrate reliability by adhering to deadlines and responding to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and team members by providing professional and courteous service.

This is a Hybrid position upon successful completion of probation period.

Rueb Stoller Daniel's employees work a 37.5 hour workweek.  

Office Hours are 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (flexible)
