Box Machine Lead

Meyer Distributing is looking for a Warehouse Box Machine Lead to join our Jasper team.

The Box machine operator Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily Box Machine Processes and personnel. This includes sorting, preparing, and packaging product requiring custom packaging. The ideal candidate will consider safety, quality, and team work to a high regard, work well in a team environment, and be able to lead their team efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School graduate or equivalent preferred

EXPERIENCE: Prior warehouse or packaging experience preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

• Oversees and manages Box Machine employees
• Train New Associates on Box Machine
• Wear safety gloves while handling metal products
• Able to read, identify and sort product based on pick ticket details
• Scans product using handheld scanners
• Use advised packing material when packaging product
• Places necessary labels on packed product
• Uses banding equipment on product is required
• Stages product for shipping in proper location for UPS/Fed Ex/LTL/truck shipments
• Keeps warehouse and work area clean and organized at all times
• Wears protective toed shoes and works in a safe manner at all times
• Assist Lead/team members when changing corrugate for Box machine
• Ensure Box machine and work area is clean and neat before leaving EOD
• Ordering supplies and keeping inventory levels necessary on hand
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Ability to give special attention to detail required. Must have ability to identify letters and numbers.
• Must be comfortable with computer to complete basic functions.
• Must adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
• The individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, and responds to management direction
•  Must have ability to orally communicate with co-workers, supervisors and other employees.

Pay based on experience.
