Position Summary:
The Brake Press Operator plays a critical role in fabricating precision structural components from steel plate and sheet metal. You'll set up, operate, and maintain Brake Press machines to achieve exact bends and shapes per engineering specifications.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Read blueprints and engineering drawings to interpret bend requirements and part specifications.
• Set up Brake Press tooling by selecting dies and adjusting machine parameters to achieve required angles, bend radii, and tolerances.
• Position and align metal pieces accurately before initiating press operations, ensuring repeatability and quality.
• Monitor the bending process, inspect parts for conformity to specifications, and make real-time adjustments when necessary.
• Conduct routine machine inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with welders, fitters, and fabrication staff to support overall assembly and workflow.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1-2 years of brake press experience within a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, using measurement tools (tape measures, calipers), and executing precision bends.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and technical accuracy.
• Basic math skills, ability to troubleshoot, and commitment to lean principles.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50lbs+ as needed.
• Stand, kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl for extended periods of time as needed.
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
