Description

SUMMARY/JOB DESCRIPTION

All branch bankers function as the central point of contact for our clients, working to develop long-term relationships. Branch bankers have broad knowledge of all the products and services offered by a bank and advises our clients about how to use them to improve their financial situations.

The goal of a branch banker is to bring all of a client’s banking and financial advisory business to the bank. A branch banker helps clients resolve any issues they have with their accounts, and helps them to optimize and manage their accounts. In addition, a personal banker helps acquire new clients to the bank and perform administrative duties.

Receives and pays out money to client and between branch vault and tellers or other branches offices. Keeps records of money and negotiable instruments involved in financial transactions by performing the following duties. Maintains drawer and branch cash levels as established by the Bank Security Policy and Procedure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be 

assigned.

Assisting Clients with their banking needs:

  • Accurately and competently process and record routine business for bank customers
  • Receives deposits for, and pays withdrawals from, savings accounts, following the cash out policy and procedures, of customers with proper identification and documents
  • Receives deposits for, and cashes checks from, customer checking and money market accounts, following the cash out policy procedure, of customers with proper identification and documents
  • Processes requests for money orders and cashiers checks
  • Redeems US Savings Bonds
  • Process loan payments
  • Process Canadian foreign exchange transactions to include processing checks through proper corresponding bank
  • Verifying balances, receiving change of address requests or updating their CIF (Customer Information File) records or closing accounts
  • Issue or reissue debit or ATM cards, answer questions about usage, disputes, verification of attempted purchases
  • Access to safe deposit boxes, following the specified procedures
  • Complete Wire Request Forms

Establish rapport with new and existing clients

  •  Introduce new services to customers

Convey Complex information at all levels

Open all types of deposit accounts whether consumer or business

Assist Manager 

  •  Identify new business opportunities
  •  Complete monthly surprise cash counts of teller drawers, as assigned
  •  Rectify customer complaints as appropriate

Collaborate with other teams and departments

Perform administrative tasks, such as making phone calls, scanning, copying, etc.

Adhere to established rules, policies and procedures of the bank

  •  Accurately count and record currency and coin in teller drawer and/or vault
  •  Ensures supply of cash for branch by placing cash vault orders and/or preparing shipments to 

Federal Reserve Bank as appropriate to stay within cash limits as assigned per branch, following procedures

  •  Maintain balancing records within the Teller Difference Policy and Procedures
  •  Follow security procedures and controls to access the vault, night depository, and ATM machines.

Perform additional duties as requested

  • High degree of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in processing transactions and cash handling.
  • Oral and listening communication skills, mathematical skills, reasoning ability.
  • Ability to work productively as a team player as well as independently.
  • Experience in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to sell and refer bank products while representing the Bank in a professional and caring manner.
  • Ability to follow all branch related policies and procedures, especially those relating to the security and protection of confidential customer information and cash handling.

PRIMARY WORK SCHEDULE

8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday (Full Time) Some Saturday hours may be required.

Hours, and days of the week may vary according to the branch location. (Part Time)
