Job Description - Branch Manager

Job Overview
The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a repair facility, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, efficient service delivery, and financial performance. This role involves managing staff, coordinating repair services, maintaining inventory, and driving the growth of the branch in alignment with company goals.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of technicians, service advisors, and administrative staff. Ensure the team is well-trained, compliant with safety standards, and equipped to meet performance targets.
  • Manage the daily operations of the branch, ensuring efficient workflow, timely service delivery, and quality repairs on all trailer types. Oversee scheduling, work orders, and repair processes to maximize productivity.
  • Recruit, interview and hire as necessary for Branch needs.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing customer concerns, providing estimates, and ensuring timely, high-quality repairs. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and partners.
  • Develop and manage the branch’s budget, including monitoring costs, setting repair pricing, and ensuring profitability. Track revenue, expenses, and performance against financial goals.
  • Oversee the management of parts and materials inventory. Ensure proper stock levels, accurate ordering, and effective use of resources to avoid delays in repairs.
  • Monitor repair quality and service standards to ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. Enforce workplace safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety laws.
  • Drive branch growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with potential clients, and promoting the branch’s services. Support the sales team in generating quotes and proposals for repair services.
  • Prepare regular reports on branch performance, including financials, customer satisfaction, and service efficiency. Analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Address any operational or customer service issues promptly, resolving conflicts efficiently while maintaining positive relationships with customers and employees.
  • Perform any other tasks necessary to ensure the successful operation of the branch.
Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or industry certifications (e.g., ASE or similar) are a plus.
  • Proven experience in a branch management or supervisory role, preferably in repair industries.
  • Strong knowledge of repair processes, tools, and equipment.
  • Excellent leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, costs, and profitability.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze operational data, identify issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Solid understanding of health, safety, and compliance regulations in the repair industry.
  • Proficiency in computer software and industry-specific management systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the branch for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 50 lbs, such as parts, tools, or equipment.
  • Ability to bend, squat, crouch, and kneel to inspect repairs or handle equipment in the workshop.
  • Frequent use of hands for operating tools, computers, and office equipment.
  • Occasional exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures in a repair shop environment.
  • Ability to work in both office and workshop settings.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety boots, gloves, and goggles, as required in the workshop.
