Description

Role:  

All employees of Lookout Credit Union are expected to uphold the Credit Union's mission and vision statements, and the employee's actions should always embody the Credit Union's TREAD model. The role of the Branch Manager is to direct the operations of a medium-sized Credit Union facility, ensuring the branch meets organizational financial, operational, service, and growth plans. Has limited lending authority.  

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: 

  • 20% Manage branch by scheduling and directing staff in their daily duties, coaching excellent member service, promoting lending and ancillary product sales, and foster a sales and service environment to benefit members and help the Credit Union reach its strategic goals. Monitor branch and team to ensure both are striving to reach Credit Union and self-set branch specific membership, account and lending goals.  
  • 20% Hold daily huddles to foster teamwork and communication between team members, branches, department and management to ensure Credit Union achieves strategic goals.  
  • 15% Underwrite, audit and approve member's loan requests in compliance with limits assigned in individual lending letter and Credit Union policy.  
  • 15% Market the Credit Union as a superior financial institution internally to team and externally to potential members and vendors by being involved in community organizations and volunteer work. Develop and grow branch profitability through business development activities with SEG partners, dealerships, other financial related industry professionals and deepening current member relationships.  
  • 10% Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures directly affecting daily work and ensure team members' compliance with those policies and procedures. Pass all internal audits with a LOW risk rating.  
  • 10% Hire, train and develop branch personnel including monthly one-on-one coaching, mentor, motivate and recommend appropriate personnel actions including training and performance documentation. Maintain working knowledge of current product, service and technology offerings.  
  • 5% Complete duties and projects with thorough and complete work on time and within budget. Provide member feedback to management regarding products and services.  
  • 5% All other job-related duties as assigned.     

Performance Measurements: 

  1. The employee's actions should always reflect the Credit Union's TREAD model to teach our members and each other, respect the Credit Union culture and philosophies, empower ourselves and others, adapt to the surroundings, and deliver on our promises. 
  2.  Maintain and develop a qualified staff sufficient to meet the needs of members. 
  3. Promote teamwork and communication among all staff members.
  4. Provide leadership to the branch.
  5. Meet or exceed all objectives and/or branch goals.
  6. Maintain/improve the financial stability of the branch.
  7. Keep management informed regarding key operation issues affecting the branch. Accept operational changes with enthusiasm; promoting and supporting management decisions and Credit Union goals.
  8. Spend time in the community promoting the Credit Union and its products and services to SEG partners, possible SEG partner and community leaders.
  9. Keep team engaged in community volunteer efforts including scheduling Ranger events.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience

Three years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education

(1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills

The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job.

Physical Requirements

Written and verbal communication is important to impart detailed information accurately and efficiently to coworkers and members. Must be able to exert up to 30 lbs. of force to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Work involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. (For teller positions: Work involves standing most the time but may involve walking or sitting for brief periods of time.) .

Work Environment

Work is generally performed in a temperature-controlled office environment. Exposure to ambient office equipment noise such as computers, telephones, and conversations between coworkers and members.
