Summary: Responsible for the daily activities of the teller staff, maintains records of vault and teller station cash balances, responsible for
opening new accounts, oversee branch operations and carries out lending functions.
Essential Functions
- Assumes all duties and responsibilities of Loan Officer.
- Ensures that all activities and work functions meet compliance requirements as defined in company policies and procedures and state/federal laws and regulations.
- Directs branch personnel to achieve stated/agreed targets and standards for financial performance, quality service, and culture.
- Builds deposit relationships by:
a) Calling on businesses, professional groups, high net worth individuals and existing customers soliciting new
deposit and loan business
b) Soliciting referrals
c) Reviewing existing account relationship for opportunities to meet additional needs with other products or
services and making proposals as appropriate.
d) Cross-selling applicable bank related products and services
e) Participating in civic and community activities to generate visibility and contract for the bank.
- Manages Staff members by:
a) Recruiting, interviewing, and selecting quality candidates
b) Completing performance appraisals
c) Coaching and developing
d) Conducting performance management activities
- Maintains and develops branch cultures, values, and reputation in its market and with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners, and regulatory/official entities.
- Manages past due and collection accounts.
- Reconcile daily timekeeping for employees including correcting and approving timecards and approving time-off requests. Ensure all employee’s time is accurate and approved in a timely manner before each payroll.
- Performs all lending functions including underwriting and approval of loans.
- Plan and conduct staff meetings for branch personnel.
- Plan and initiate cross training of employees.
- Approve and make corrections to employee’s timecards in Paycor and approve time-off request promptly.
- Balance and surprise count teller’s drawer, vault, and ATM.
- Approve and remit teller over/short report monthly.
- Represent the bank in the local community through active participation in community affairs.
- Perform annual employee performance appraisals and make recommendations for non-exempt salary increases.
- Make appropriate contacts for building maintenance and service.
- Ensure bank is in compliance with federal banking regulations including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, Community Reinvestment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Right to Financial Privacy Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, the Federal Reserve’s “lettered” regulations, and Branch Manager roles and responsibilities relating to each act.
- Performs cash audits as directed by Bank Auditor.
- Communicate with Division Manager and keep informed of personnel issues.
- Be able to assume duties/responsibilities of Branch Operations Manager and Universal Manager – be well versed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
