Branch Manager for a future Hazleton Branch/Bi-Lingual Spanish and English

General and business knowledge equivalent to a high school diploma 

Training/Certification(s):

Bachelor’s degree in business management, or similar field of study, preferred but not required.

Experience:

3-4 years of related experience in retail financial services or equivalent work experience
1-2 years of management experience preferred

Summary:
The Branch Manager supports Cross Valley Federal Credit Union’s mission, “To create and provide opportunity for our members by making financial solutions accessible, equitable, and achievable,” by delivering exceptional service. Sets a clear direction for the branch; demonstrates a consultative sales approach and directs all aspects of branch operations including deposit growth, loans & service ratio. 

Essential Functions:

  • Direct the activities of the branch to ensure optimum efficiency, effectiveness, and quality by formulating and overseeing department goals, budgets, and operating policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Contribute to branch profitability through efficient handling of all transactions and member service functions, leading successful cross-selling efforts, effectively assessing financial goals, and implementing strategies to achieve long term goals.
  • Lead efforts to promote the full line of financial products and services to retain and expand current member relationships. Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Ensure adequate staffing for efficient operations.
  • Oversee or personally perform all functions of the branch including but not limited to loan service, member service, teller duties, and new membership opening.
  • Serves as an ambassador for their branch and the credit union within the communities we serve.
  • Maintain efficient branch security measures and cleanliness of branch.
  • Deals with escalated member issues to prevent further escalation and ensure member and credit union satisfaction. Follows up on member complaint log as necessary.
  • Responsible for training, coaching, developing, performance management, and evaluating staff. Timely follow-up of all staff performance and discipline issues. Provide recognition and coaching on a daily basis, as needed.
  • Ensures branch compliance with operating policies and procedures and outside regulatory requirements. While keeping staff informed of Credit Union policy and procedure changes. Ensure that all Credit Union policies are being followed and initiate corrective action as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by System Operations Coordinator, Senior and Executive Management.

  • Thorough knowledge of financial services industry products and services and industry regulations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English and Spanish both orally and in writing.
  • Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment.
  • Ability to receive information and hear sounds at normal speaking levels under normal conditions in the branch.
  • Visually able to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended time periods.
  • Ability to travel to other locations within Luzerne County to provide coverage if needed as well as training
  • Ability to exert minimum amounts of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects.

Requirements

This position will be for a future branch in Hazleton, PA.  The candidate must be able to speak, write, and understand English and Spanish.  Training will be in the Wilkes-Barre location for at least six months or more.
