Job Description - Branch Operations Support Specialist

First National Bank of America is seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Branch Operations Support Specialist. The Branch Operations Support Specialist provides critical support to both the front-line branch team and back-office operations. This hybrid role ensures efficient, compliant, and accurate processing of financial transactions, supports customer account servicing, and assists with regulatory documentation and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess high attention to detail, accuracy and strong organizational skills. The position is based in a branch but plays a pivotal role in behind-the-scenes operations.


Responsibilities:



  • Review and process back-office tasks including CD clearing, unposted items, wire transfers, ACH returns etc.

  • Perform daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliation of internal transactions and reports

  • Monitor and resolve transaction discrepancies, system exceptions, and fraud alerts

  • Ensure timely and accurate scanning, filing, and archiving of customer and operational documents

  • Support audit preparation and participate in periodic internal control reviews

  • Work with centralized departments (Deposit Operations, IT, Risk) to resolve operational issues

  • Assist Branch teams during busy time in answering calls, resolving client issues and/or help with reporting to grow low cost deposits


Qualifications:



  • 2+ years banking experience, preferably in both teller and operational roles

  • Strong understanding of banking systems and transaction types

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and core banking systems (Jack Henry if applicable)
