Job Description - Brand Manager, Minwax

The Minwax Brand Manager is responsible for leading the branding initiatives for Minwax within the Consumer Brands portfolio. It supports the marketing strategies/efforts for the division's top interior stain brand. The role requires a strategic thinker who will participate in and contribute to the development and execution of communication campaigns across all advertising mediums. This includes developing and executing strong brand stories that communicate the brand promise, vision and position that support the brands marketing objectives, increase brand awareness, drive conversion and consumer demand. This position will lead the Minwax brand team and work closely with cross-functional teams such as Digital, Channel, Sales, Product, Marcom and Legal.

This role also requires a base understanding of the following and will assist in all aspects of brand marketing including: brand planning, digital marketing, product development and commercialization, budgeting, product launches and maintenance, sales reporting, social media, stage gate process and internal databases.

Ensure that end-users understand, remember and value the brand's position and the brand's purpose.

Work with the insights team to develop a deep understanding of consumer behavior.

Contribute to the formulation and communication of the brand's strategy.

Lead the implementation of the brand's strategy through well-articulated brand initiatives that will drive profitable growth, category share gains and stronger brand preference.

Competitive assessment

Lead contract negotiations and direction of creative, PR and media agencies.

Develop and deliver creative briefs.

Lead the development and delivery of brand content through paid media and owned brand platforms.

Manage the creative, PR and media budgets.

Direct the work of associate brand managers and assistant brand managers.

Ensure that there is continuous collaboration with other functions such as product marketing, digital marketing, and marketing communications.

FORMAL EDUCATION

Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field.

Preferred:

MBA/MS preferred

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

3-5 years prior experience in Brand Marketing, Brand Communications, Digital Marketing or Product Marketing with progressively more responsibility and a track record of results.

At least 3 years of experience with P&L and/or budgeting is required.
