The Brand Sourcing Specialist at McLane Global supports the identification and evaluation of U.S. branded consumer products for distribution in international markets. This role assists with supplier research, basic negotiations, and onboarding activities to ensure products meet company requirements for quality, pricing, and compliance. The position requires consistent follow-up, organization, and communication with suppliers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and research U.S. branded consumer products suitable for international distribution.
Monitor established and emerging brands, market trends, and potential new product opportunities.
Evaluate potential suppliers for product quality, reliability, and commercial suitability.
Support the onboarding process for new suppliers, ensuring required documents and compliance materials are collected.
Assist in negotiating pricing, payment terms, MOQs, and lead times with brand owners, distributors, and wholesalers.
Maintain accurate sourcing records, cost sheets, and supplier communication logs.
Conduct basic analysis of market trends, consumer demand, and competitor assortments.
Prepare product recommendations based on data, cost analysis, and category needs.
AAS degree required; Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
1–3 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or category/brand support roles (consumer goods experience preferred).
Basic understanding of supply chain principles, including supply/demand and pricing fundamentals.
Familiarity with Incoterms and international shipping concepts.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage supplier follow-ups.
Basic analytical skills and ability to interpret product and pricing data.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP or sourcing platforms.
Understanding of consumer packaged goods (CPG) markets is an advantage.
