About Us


Hyatt Place Mount Pleasant Towne Centre is seeking an energetic, dependable, and guest-focused Breakfast Attendant / Cook to join our team.


Breakfast is one of the most important parts of our guests' experience, and this role plays a key part in helping guests start their day with great food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Position Summary


The Breakfast Attendant / Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting the hotel's complimentary breakfast while maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, safety, and guest service.


This position combines food preparation, buffet setup and maintenance, guest interaction, and kitchen sanitation responsibilities to ensure a smooth and enjoyable breakfast experience each day.


 


Essential Functions


Food Preparation




  • Prepare breakfast items according to Hyatt standards and recipes.




  • Cook and prepare hot breakfast items while ensuring quality and consistency.




  • Maintain proper food temperatures and presentation standards.




  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines.




  • Assist with inventory management and product rotation.




Breakfast Service




  • Set up and maintain the breakfast buffet before service begins.




  • Monitor food levels throughout service and replenish items as needed.




  • Ensure all food and beverage stations remain clean, stocked, and organized.




  • Maintain an attractive and welcoming breakfast area for guests.




  • Break down and clean buffet areas following breakfast service.




Guest Service




  • Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, attentive service.




  • Answer questions regarding breakfast offerings and hotel amenities.




  • Assist guests with special requests when possible.




  • Create a welcoming atmosphere that reflects Hyatt's commitment to hospitality.




Cleaning & Sanitation




  • Clean kitchen equipment, preparation areas, dining areas, and workspaces.




  • Wash dishes and maintain proper sanitation procedures.




  • Remove trash and maintain cleanliness throughout breakfast service.




  • Follow all company and health department sanitation requirements.




Teamwork




  • Communicate effectively with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Management teams.




  • Assist with additional food and beverage responsibilities as assigned.




  • Support hotel operations and special events when needed.




 


Qualifications


Preferred Qualifications




  • Previous food service, restaurant, hotel, catering, or kitchen experience preferred.




  • Previous cooking experience is a plus.




  • Strong customer service skills.




  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.




  • Ability to work independently and maintain organization.




  • Food Safety Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).




Physical Requirements




  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.




  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.




  • Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and carry supplies as needed.




  • Ability to work in kitchen and food preparation environments.




Schedule Expectations




  • Early morning availability is required.




  • Weekends and holidays are required based on business needs.




  • Typical shifts begin early morning to ensure breakfast is fully prepared before service begins.
