Breakfast Cook/Baker

Great Western Dining is currently looking to add a Breakfast Cook/Baker to our team. Includes opening the kitchen, prepping-cooking-serving breakfast. This position also includes some baking responsibility. 

Basic cooking skills are preferred. But we will train the right person.

Reporting to the Chef, a Breakfast Cook/Baker ensures our clients are delivered an exceptional culinary experience by producing a variety of baked goods and providing a quality morning meal centered around the classic biscuits and gravy/sausage and eggs combo. 

Responsibilities:

• Direct preparation, seasoning, and cooking of breakfast
• Demonstrate creativity in baking production as well as follow standard recipes
• Assist Chef with meal preparation, inventory management, and ordering
• Able to safely use, clean, and maintain all kitchen equipment
• Ensure all daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks are completed
• Assist in unloading the grocery truck
• You may be asked to; supervise, train, mentor, and direct other kitchen staff

If you posess any or ideally all of the following skills and qualifications, you will be considered for the position:

• Proven experience as cook
• Genuine interest in cooking
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
• Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
• Ability to adhere to all safety policies and procedures as per task, equipment usage, or PPE requirements
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Very good communication skills
