Job Description - Brentwood General Manager

The Brentwood General Manager is responsible for leading the day to day operations and performance of the Brentwood Apparel and Home location, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences that drive returning customers and consistently reflect the Jenni Kayne experience. This role is highly hands-on and visible on the sales floor, setting the standard for service excellence, coaching and developing store leaders and associates, and ensuring the store executes the brand in a way that converts traffic into loyal, repeat customers and sustained sales growth.


As the Jenni Kayne Brentwood General Manager, you will:



  • Lead the overall performance of the Brentwood Apparel and Home location, delivering a consistent, elevated customer experience that drives repeat visits and long-term customer loyalty.

  • Be highly visible on the sales floor, setting the standard for service excellence, clienteling, and conversion while supporting teams during peak selling moments.

  • Drive sales results by coaching teams on relationship-based selling, product knowledge across apparel and home, and thoughtful engagement with Jenni Kayne Rewards.

  • Build, develop, and retain high-performing teams through hiring, onboarding, ongoing training, and clear, consistent performance feedback.

  • Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and motivating store culture that inspires teams to perform at their best.

  • Ensure operational excellence across all areas of the business, including inventory accuracy, visual standards, payroll, scheduling, and adherence to company policies.

  • Partner with the Director of Stores to plan and execute in-store events that strengthen community connections and drive traffic and sales.

  • Execute company initiatives and priorities with consistency and attention to detail, translating strategy into strong in-store execution.

  • Oversee store opening and closing procedures to ensure a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for both customers and teams.


Qualifications & Requirements



  • Minimum 3+ years of retail management experience, preferably in an elevated or specialty retail environment.

  • Strong understanding of all aspects of retail operations, including sales performance, business development, visual merchandising, and store operations.

  • Experience managing both Apparel and Home businesses; familiarity with interior styling, trade programs, and special home projects is a plus.

  • Proven ability to plan and execute small-scale in-store events and engage with the local community to drive traffic and sales.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead, coach, and influence teams effectively.

  • Entrepreneurial, detail-oriented, and highly organized, with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.

  • Working knowledge of POS systems, inventory management tools, and Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel).

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and peak business periods as needed.

  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, including standing for extended periods; sitting, bending, kneeling, and reaching; and lifting, carrying, or moving objects weighing up to 15 pounds as required in a retail environment.

  • Comfortable training, providing feedback and developing employees

  • Must be able to kneel, stoop, climb ladders, use stairs, reach lift and move heavy objects (30+ pounds or more) from time to time as required

The annual base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000. The base salary is determined by experience, education, skills, and location.
