Every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and confident in their journey toward becoming a reader. Bridge Preparatory Charter School is a free, public K–5 charter school specifically designed to support literacy acquisition for students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. Since opening in 2019, Bridge Prep has proudly served families across Staten Island and Brooklyn with an academic program that promotes literacy equity and celebrates a diverse community of learners.

As New York’s leader in Science of Reading–based programming, Bridge Prep utilizes an Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) model to deliver personalized, small-class instruction. Our approach incorporates explicit, multisensory methods influenced by the Orton-Gillingham (OG) approach to teach reading, writing, and spelling.

This innovative, student-centered environment is intentionally designed for students with unique strengths who may struggle in traditional classroom settings.
