Bridge Superintendent

Job Summary:

The Bridge Superintendent manages all phases of bridge construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. This includes planning, coordination, scheduling, and execution.

Responsibilities:

• Plan site requirements and order necessary supplies/materials.


• Track job site production and progress.


• Supervise, train, and guide Foremen and crew members.


• Build and maintain strong relationships with project owners and subcontractors.


• Oversee quality control and site productivity.


• Maintain documentation (reports, receipts, etc.).


• Communicate updates with Foremen, skilled tradespeople, and subcontractors.


• Monitor and control project costs, including labor, equipment, and materials, to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in various weather conditions.


• Lift and carry heavy objects.


• Prolonged standing, walking, and navigating construction sites.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Bridge Superintendent.


• Experience with bridge structures (plate girder, concrete girder, steel truss, etc.).


• Knowledge of concrete forming systems and civil construction processes.


• Strong understanding of quality control, cost control, job site safety, and blueprint reading.


• OSHA 30-hour construction safety training, minimum requirement.


• Good math, analytical, and communication skills.


• Ability to teach and work alongside field crews.


• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.


• Basic knowledge of software programs, such as Heavy Job, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint a plus.
