The Broadband Technician at DCOMM is responsible for installing and troubleshooting internet, television, and phone services on behalf of service providers. Our technicians work in residential homes and business environments, ensuring customers receive reliable and high-quality connections while maintaining a commitment to safety standards on every job.

Using fiber optic, coax, and category cables, technicians rely on advanced tools and workforce management platforms to complete jobs efficiently and document their work accurately.

YOUR ROLE IN ACTION:

• Install broadband services, including internet, television, and phone systems across single-family homes, multi-dwelling units (MDUs), and business-class environments.

• Perform installations of aerial and underground coax and fiber drops.

• Install and configure outlets for aerial and underground coax and fiber drops.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently to ensure consistent quality of service.

• Install and provision customer equipment, including modems, wireless access points, routers, and set-top boxes.

• Conduct signal testing and diagnostics using specialized test equipment.

• Document work performed accurately within the workforce management platform, including equipment usage, installation details, and service outcomes.

• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, explaining services and providing guidance on equipment usage and maintenance.

• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions with customers, team members, and supervisors, fostering trust and reliability.

• Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are clean, organized, and well-maintained to support operational efficiency.

• Adhere to all safety protocols, quality standards, and company policies, demonstrating a commitment to professionalism and accountability.

• Flexibility: Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and long hours as needed to meet operational demands.

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights of up to 28 feet.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 85 lbs.

• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, and stand for extended periods.

• Comfortable performing repetitive motions and working with arms raised above shoulder level.

• Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Environmental Conditions:

• Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and humidity.

• Comfortable working in confined spaces, attics, basements, and outdoor environments.

• Exposure to noise, dust, and other environmental elements common in construction and installation sites.

Work Environment:

• Work performed in residential homes, multi-dwelling units (MDUs), and business-class environments.

• Frequent travel between job sites using company-provided vehicles.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in dynamic and changing environments.

Schedule Flexibility:

• Ability to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.

• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations as needed.

LOCATION AND TRAVEL:

• Primary Work Location: Work is primarily performed on-site at customer locations.

• Travel Requirements: Frequent travel between job sites within an assigned service area using a company-provided vehicle.

• Overnight Travel: Occasional overnight travel may be required based on project needs or extended service requirements.

• Lodging Expenses: Company-covered lodging expenses provided for overnight assignments when applicable.

• Per Diem for Meals: A per diem allowance is provided for meals during approved overnight travel.

• Driver Expectations: Maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and adhere to safe driving practices at all times.
