Budtender - Urgent

Our client is seeking Budtenders who possess an expert knowledge of all state rules and regulations, can quickly learn about all products sold at their dispensary, and cannabis in general. They must be able to accurately process transactions, correctly recording them in the Point-of-Sale system while making customers feel comfortable and informed.

The Budtender must consistently and professionally follow all company standard operating procedures. Budtenders are able to adapt the shopping experience for each individual customer. They provide information and insight when appropriate, in a friendly and approachable manner. Those hired on will attend trainings so they may confidently assist customers in their cannabis product selections.

Successful candidates are will continuously expand their knowledge of cannabis and cannabis products, doing research online and visiting other facilities when possible. When customers ask, they provide insight and information into the methods of consumption, safe dosages, potential effects, and storage of products.

The work environment can be fast-paced and noisy. It requires someone who enjoys the intensity and can multitask and focus, while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities:
● Attend all necessary initial and ongoing training
● Read and understand all retail rules and regulations set forth by the OCM and State of New York
● Understand the importance of proper identification and age verification, confidentiality, and privacy
● Possess an expert knowledge of all products carried in the store, along with responsible consumption
and dosage of those products
● Prioritize safety, security and cleanliness
● Ensure anti-diversion tactics are applied during the course of business
● Provide insight and information about all company products to customers, communicating compliance requirements when appropriate
● Handles products and currency responsibly
● Accurately record sales transactions within the point-of-sale system
● Count precisely and provide accurate change
● Provide excellent customer service by being respectful and inclusive of all customers and co-workers
● Greet customers upon entry to the sales area
● Keep inventory and displays organized and in their appropriate places on the sales floor
● Complete and turn in drawer totals and numerically sequenced close-out sheets with organized receipts
● Keep sales area clean and organized
● Provide feedback about the products, facility and the culture when appropriate
● Fulfill all cleaning, facility maintenance, and side work as assigned
● Support management with various administrative and miscellaneous duties when assigned

Qualifications/ Requirements:
● Minimum of 3-year Customer Service experience
● Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the US
● Must be able to satisfy state requirements via background checks to work in the industry
● General knowledge of cannabis products and a willingness to advance cannabis knowledge
● Excellent verbal/ written communication skills
● Must be highly energetic, positive and enthusiastic
● Ability to interact with all personality types and work as a team
● Ability to remain calm and organized in high-volume sales scenarios
● Ability to adapt when rules or processes change
● Flexible availability to include some nights, weekends and holidays
● Ability to work in person, non-remote
● Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
● Lift up to 30 lbs
● Computer/ technology savvy
