Position Details: 

• This position will be in-office at our client’s facility 

• Pay range $110,000-$125,000 

Primary Function: 

The Build Manager is responsible for managing the prototype build teams which includes adhering to schedules, allocating resources, reviewing, and reporting on budgets and burn rates.  This role will also be responsible for managing the inventory of consigned material for the prototype builds. 

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities: 

• Manage Technicians and Inventory Team  

• Ensure schedules and budgets reports are being met.  

• Act as liaison between Operations/Engineering Manager and your responsible teams to communicate needs, improvements, status updates, etc. 

• Partnering with engineering team to ensure build lines are setup correctly. 

• Oversee reporting of material position against build schedule. 

• Contribute to development and deployment of MES system 

• Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.  

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities) 

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent strongly preferred. 

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing or prototyping. 

• Proven leadership and management capabilities and experience. 

• Experience within an R&D environment strongly preferred. 

• Ability to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders.  

• Experience creating and implementing processes to improve efficiencies within a production line. 

• Ability to make clear and effective presentations to inform and persuade clients, peers, and managers. 

• Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing priorities.  

• Ability to plan work and accomplish objectives with minimal direction. 

• Strong written and verbal English language communication skills. 

• Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. 

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group. 

• Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Sigma Design Core Values. 

• Pass a post-offer background verification. 

Work Environment  

Standard lab/production environment. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients, or suppliers. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
