Building Grounds Maintenance Assistant (BGMA)

New Flyer, North America’s leading manufacturer of heavy-duty transit buses, is seeking a dedicated Building Grounds Maintenance Assistant (BGMA) to join our team. At New Flyer, we pride ourselves on creating innovative and sustainable transportation solutions, including our celebrated Xcelsior® and Xcelsior CHARGE® bus models. As a BGMA, you will play an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our facility's outdoor spaces. Your contributions will help us uphold our commitment to quality, safety, and environmental responsibility while ensuring that our facilities reflect the highest standards of excellence. Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness of outdoor areas such as parking lots, pathways, and gardens.
• Utilize and care for grounds maintenance equipment like mowers, blowers, and trimmers.
• Report safety hazards and maintenance needs promptly to management.
• Assist with seasonal maintenance tasks, including snow removal during winter months.
• Comply with all safety regulations while performing maintenance duties.
• Work collaboratively with other maintenance staff to enhance facility operations.
• Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies, reordering as necessary.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in grounds maintenance or custodial work is advantageous.
• Familiarity with the safe operation of landscaping machinery.
• Strong attention to detail and dedication to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical capability to perform strenuous tasks and operate outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Effective communication skills and ability to follow directions accurately.
