Building Simulation Technician

The Building Simulation Technician will use building plans and specs to create building energy models using energy modeling and plan review software.  This role should start on simple plans and move on to buildings with more complex features as skills progress.  The BST must be able to maintain accuracy with speed and learn to work efficiently.  As knowledge continues to progress opportunities will be given for building additional skills including QA, tradeoff modeling, special reports, and managing others.

 Accountabilities:

• Speed and Accuracy at creating energy models from building plans and specs

• Review project certification requirements and prepare documentation that project meets requirements.


• Record findings in database software for aggregate reporting


• Submit energy models to appropriate entities

• Generate alternative energy efficiency measures for homes to meet project goals as required.  


• Work with Customer Success Team as needed to prepare presentations

• Pursue further education on energy efficiency and energy/green programs


• Review and report data anomalies


• Respond to QA requests in timely manner
